The Minister for Social Protection Heather Humphreys TD says she hopes Ulster Bank will clarify its position soon amidst reports that it is to withdraw from the Irish market. The bank is a subsidiary of the NatWest group in the UK, which is due to publish annual results tomorrow. It’s thought this announcement might include clarification of its intentions for the future of Ulster Bank, which would lead to the closure of its branch network in the Republic including the facility at Church Square in Monaghan town.
