Work engaged in by Monaghan Co Council to protect bogs and wetlands, and to develop a countywide community communication network, has earned the local authority two prestigious national awards. Gold Awards for Best Connected Council and Best Environmental or Ecological Project or Initiative came the Monaghan authority’s way at the All- Ireland Community and Council Awards ceremony in Croke Park Stadium in Dublin on Saturday February 15.
