The Hillgrove Hotel in Monaghan Town was the venue on Friday last for the opening event of Bioeconomy Ireland Week, which focused on Sustainability and the Future of Food. Over 120 food producers, researchers and academics from all over Ireland were addressed by experts in the field, among them Rory McDonnell, Bord Bia’s Head of Strategic Insight, who discussed future food trends. An industry-led panel comprising Justin Carton, Manor Farm; Jason Whooley, Bio-Marine Ingredients and Kobus De Klerk, MBio debated Sustainability and the Future of Protein.
