A call was made this week on Minister for Health Dr James Reilly to restore an adequate level of emergency service provision at Monaghan General Hospital.
The appeal came from Fine Gael member of Monaghan Town Council Tommy Hagan in reaction to the case highlighted in the local media by Colr Paudge Connolly of a Tyholland man who experienced a 90-minute wait for the arrival of an ambulance after he was confronted with a medical emergency (see separate story).
