BIG TOM COMES TO TOWN TO LAUNCH MONAGHAN COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL

“The idea of this is to bring a bit of life and business back into the town.” 
So said Willie McKenna as he spoke about the idea behind the Monaghan Town Country Music Festival which was officially launched by Monaghan’s own country legend Big Tom in the Market House, Monaghan on Monday evening, 13th May.

Willie welcomed all present and explained that this festival was the first of its kind in Co Monaghan. It’s a non-profit, community-run event and all proceeds from it will be divided between a number of local charities.

WHAT’S HAPPENING
The Monaghan Town Country Music Festival will take place in the Diamond over four nights from Thursday, 18th until Sunday, 21st July. On Thursday, 18th July Mike Denver will take to stage while on Friday Robert Mizzell will perform. Big Tom and the Mainliners will entertain the crowd on Saturday night and Nathan Carter will wrap up the festivities on Sunday evening.

Tickets priced at €10 per night or €35 for a weekend pass can be bought from Sound Quality, located upstairs in Fleming’s Department Store, The Westenra Arms Hotel or Ticketmaster. 

The festival is open air and will run from 9pm – 11pm each night with the exception of Sunday evening when events will run from 7pm – 9pm. A warm-up act will take to the stage for approximately an hour-and-a-half before the main performers.
