CASTLEBLAYNEY MAN SET TO APPEAR ON RTE’S DRAGONS’ DEN

A Castleblayney man will be featured on this Sunday night’s episode (22nd May) of RTE’s Dragons’ Den.
Paul Kelly, a secondary school teacher in Beneavin College in Finglas, Dublin, will ask the Dragons for €60,000 for a 10 per cent share of his company, Homeschool.ie
Homeschool.ie is an online teaching platform that gives Junior and Leaving Certificate students access to video lessons from the comfort and safety of their own home. The website allows users to connect with the very best teachers in the country no matter where they live or what school they go to.
Students who enrol at Homeschool.ie will receive a weekly video lesson delivered on screen by the subject teacher over twenty-four weeks throughout the 2015/16 academic year.
Study manuals and sample answers on each subject topic are available and users have the ability to submit a question to their subject teacher on each lesson and can be assigned homework tasks at the end of each week’s lessons.
The website was established with the aim of providing educational support to students throughout Ireland and abroad, who for a wide variety of different reasons, are unable to fully access mainstream education.
Paul has been teaching English and History for over ten years and completed his MSc. in eLearning at DCU in 2013. He has just been appointed to the Apple Distinguished Educators Class of 2015 for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa. He is also heavily involved in curriculum development at national level in his role as Regional Associate for the Junior Cycle Network.
Paul will appear on Episode Six of Dragons’ Den on RTÉ One this Sunday, 22nd May at 9.30pm
