A large contingent of sports fans from Clones and other parts of Co Monaghan descended upon the Manchester Arena on Saturday night to watch enthralled as Barry McGuigan boxing protégé Carl Frampton achieved his unification ambition after a gruelling duel with Scott Quigg. As ‘The Jackal’ bathed in the adulation of an estimated ten thousand revellers from the northern counties of Ireland who had generated an extraordinary atmosphere in the arena, his Monaghan devotees took the opportunity to mingle with the great and the good at the after-party events, with our own man on the sport, Northern Standard photographer Rory Geary, on hand to capture the celebrity-smoozing moments.
