The annual Glaslough Harriers Road Races took place in cold and at times wintry conditions on Sunday last. As always there was a very good turnout for both the juvenile races and the Senior Open 5k.
Having won the Carmen 10k in Carrickmore on Saturday Clonliffe Harriers athlete Gary O Hanlon was again in fine form and despite local athlete Patrick Cassidy putting it up to him for the first three kilometers, O Hanlon also the winner of the Jolly Joggers 10k on New Years day really had a convincing victory as he crossed line to win in 15:34, with Glaslough Harriers athlete Patrick Cassidy taking in 16.01, while Conor Duffy winner of the Co. Board 5k on this same course in January finishing 3rd in 16.16.
In the Womens race Irish International Kerry Harty of Newcastle totally controlled the race from the off and came home a very dominant winner in 17.09. Clones athlete Denise Toner was the first of the local home clear in second in 18.36, with Donna Evans of Monaghan Phoenix third in 18.59. Muckno Triathlon Club took the Mens Team title, while Clones AC won the Ladies Team. A full list …
