Corduff 1-09
Donaghmoyne 0-14

A seven point lead at half-time was all the leg-up Donaghmoyne needed to go on and bag the spoils at the expense of IFL hosts Corduff on Saturday evening last.
In a game that had a lot of championship fervour about it, Corduff fought the gallant fight but the challenge posed by a substantial early deficit allied to the loss of a player for the final quarter was a double whammy which conspired to cripple their ambitions.
Donaghmoyne travelled to their near-neighbours in sleeves-rolled-up mode and within 11 minutes were 0-3 to 0-0 in front thanks, in part, to a brace of Ciaran Daly frees.
Corduff were slow to cut free from their starting blocks but they did break their duck in the 13th minute when Keith McEnaney converted a free to make it a two point game.
Donaghmoyne remained on the frontfoot though and despite a second McEnaney free, Corduff played a poor second fiddle to their wind-aided opponents in the second quarter.
The Fontenoys countered McEnaney’s free (18) with five unanswered points in advance of the short whistle with top scorer Rory Woods rifling over a hat-trick of frees.
Indeed but for a top notch save, Donaghmoyne might well have nicked a first half goal …
