The work being done by Monaghan Co Council to mitigate the aftermath of deprivation and disruption visited upon the county by Storm Eowyn was commended by Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage James Browne TD when he visited Monaghan Town on Tuesday evening. Minister Browne met with Co Council Chief Executive Robert Burns and Directors of Service Cathal Flynn and Gareth McMahon at the Monaghan Peace Campus, where a community assistance hub offering hot food, communication access, practical assistance and advice to people still without basic essentials of living was in full operation.
