CLIMATE ACTION FUNDING WINDFALL FOR COUNTY MONAGHAN

Community organisations throughout Co Monaghan are to benefit significantly from allocations announced this week under the Government’s Community Climate Action Fund. A total of €789,880.06 has been allocated to the county.

The successful Co Monaghan applicants and their projects are: Castleblayney Boxing Club – Collaborative North/South Solar Installation Killeevan Sarsfields GFC – Solar Panel Installation, Energy Efficient LED Lighting Upgrades for Cross- Border project Monaghan Harps GFC – Cross- Border Climate Action partnership between Monaghan Harps and Aghadrumsee GAC Scotstown GFC – The CCAP Upgrade Project Castleblayney Community Enterprise CLG – Building Cross- Border Infrastructure for a Sustainable Future Monaghan Rugby Football Club – Joint Environmental Improvement Project, Monaghan and Omagh RFCs Glaslough Development Association – Climate Action Measures at Oakland Community Centre Castleblayney Faughs GFC – Holistic Sustainability Actions for a Large GAA Club Aughnamullen GFC – Biodiversity Project Cuan Mhuire CLG Ballybay – Community Centre Climate Action Project: Installing Solar Panels and Compost Bins Doohamlet GFC – Installation of an Electric Robotic Mower, Solar System, Recyclable Bottle Banks and Bike Stand Monaghan Tidy Towns – Biodiversity Town Pocket Forests for a Low Carbon Town Eire Og GFC – Measures to Reduce Cabron Footprint Lisdoonan Recreational and Development Association CLG – Community Centre renewable energy and biodiversity project. Cremartin GFC, Cremartin Community Group – Cremartin Complex Climate Action Project Gaeil Triucha CLG – Renewable Energy, Rainwater Harvesting, Water Refill Station and Biodiversity Project Clontibret O’Neills GFC – Renewable Energy, Bike Rack, Water Refill Station and Biodiversity Enhancement Project.

The Community Climate Action programme supports projects which focus on building low carbon communities across the State, and also supports cross-border projects that contribute to climate and energy targets.
