Minister for Rural and Community Development and Cavan/Monaghan TD Heather Humphreys this week announced €194,000 in funding to support five community projects in Monaghan. St Tiarnach’s National School will receive €50,000 for an all-weather playing area, as well as for the provision of fencing and a wild garden. Clontibret GAA has been approved funding of €43,130 for the final phase of their carpark project. Over €44,000 will be invested in a walking track and biodiversity garden with seating, lighting and fencing in Carrickroe. Meanwhile, Clones Chamber of Commerce is to receive €45,000 for the development of the Clones farmyard yard.
And In Ballybay, the Youth Centre will receive an investment of €11,700 for the development of their outdoor area and sensory garden. The investment is the latest to be delivered under Our Rural Future, the Government’s rural development policy. It is part of a €2.75 million investment announced by Minister Humphreys nationwide.
