Co Monaghan boxer Aaron McKenna (PICTURED) returns to
competitive action this Saturday, June 25.
‘The Silencer’, who will be fighting for the first time since
he won the WBC World Youth title last December, is set to
be part of a Sky Sports televised bill at the Coventry Skydome
Arena. Aaron will be bidding for a 15th consecutive win in
the pro ranks, with his opponent yet to be announced. His
brother Stephen has a first bout of the year pencilled in for
early next month.
Speaking to The Irish News this week, Aaron said: “It’s
been a while since I last fought, but I haven’t left the gym.
We’ve been training all year and thankfully this fight came
up. I’m really looking forward to it; I want to put on a good
show. I’ve been training that long and I want to let it out now
and prove to everyone what I can do. I’ve felt great in sparring
and this is the best I’ve ever felt going into a fight.”
