- Donna’s medal brings early St Patrick’s Day joy to Top of the Tots kids
The kids of Monaghan’s Top of the Tots childcare facility jumped at the chance to get all dressed up early for St Patrick’s Day this week. And they had good reason for celebrating the festival a little in advance. The children wanted to surprise their childcare provider Donna Evans with their congratulations for Donna’s gold medalwinning participation at the European Cross-Country Masters Championships in Portugal. Clones AC runner Donna was part of the Irish team that triumphed in the event, which took place in testing conditions over a number of days. The veteran Monaghan athlete now has her sights set on the European Half-Marathon in Italy in May, followed by the World Masters Cross-Country in July in Finland.
