Confirmation at Monday’s meeting of the Monaghan Municipal District that that a feasibility study is being carried out on the provision of a loop walk at the Hollywood Lake amenity was welcomed by Sinn Féin councillor Cathy Bennett. Councillor Bennett thanked the Municipal District for taking the initiative alongside Hollywood Development Committee to make plans to have the project shovel-ready for funding when it becomes available.
“This is a very welcome announcement that will help the park develop to its full potential,” Councillor Bennett stated. She added that funding approved last year would see Hollywood’s development commence this year and be completed in the third quarter of the year. Municipal District Coordinator Donal McElwain said that the Municipal District had met with members of the Development Committee the previous week and was trying to finalise and agree proposals with them.
