Poultry producers from Co Monaghan have joined with colleagues in counties Cavan, Louth and Meath to provide major support for a project in Cambodia which is providing a lifeline to local children. Through the An Sicín Coop, the poultry men are aiding a chicken rearing project established at a Cambodian school. Co-op Chairman Pat Mc- Cormick became aware of the school-based project after hearing a podcast of an interview on Northern Sound radio.
Carrickmacross-based retired teachers Dave Phelan and his wife Niamh Boylan have been teaching teachers for over three years in a rural school outside Siem Reap.
