Situated in Newbliss village and managed by Killeevan Development Association, The Acorn Community Centre has been a hive of activity since it was built on the site of the old Newbliss Hall in 1985.There are few, if any, in the community who have not had occasion to avail of its facilities. Perhaps it was to play basketball, indoor football or soccer, to attend or participate in school plays, Irish dancing, a ceilí, the senior citizens party at Christmas or sadly to meet with friends and family after burying a loved one!
