Smithboro’s professional boxing brothers Stevie and Aaron McKenna will fight on the same bill for the first time in London on Friday December 11 next. The “baby-faced Irish terrors” as they have been dubbed in the pugilistic press will appear in promoter Mick Hennessy’s prestigious event, coverage of which will be free-to-air on British TV’s Channel 5. Stevie and Aaron will be protecting unbeaten records in separate six-round contests on the undercard of the crunch clash between welterweights Sam Eggington and Ashley Theophane.
Stevie, 23, made his first appearance for Hennessy Sports back in September on the Alex Dilmaghani-Samir Ziani undercard in his last fight and made an immediate impact with his devastating firepower by flooring Gary McGuire three times before the referee called a halt at just 1:13 of the first round.
He’ll return to the ring again just seven days later when he features on another Hennessy show on Friday December 18, headlined by the mouth-watering British Light-Heavyweight title showdown between Shakan Pitters and Craig Richards, also live on Channel 5.
