MINISTER HUMPHREYS DELIVERS €137,000 IN COVID SUPPORTS FOR CO. MONAGHAN TOWNS

Five towns and villages in County Monaghan are to receive €137,320 as part of a major funding package for rural Ireland delivered by the Minister for rural and Community Development and Cavan Monaghan Deputy, Heather Humphreys. Carrickmacross will receive €40,000 to fund a canopy, as well as picnic area with seating and benches adjacent to the Civic Offices.

Some of the money will also be spent on an age friendly business promotion. For Monaghan town, Minister Humphreys has delivered €25,000 to fund a large screen for outdoor events. The package also includes a green space set up at the Courthouse Square, as well as a marketing campaign for the town centre. Ballybay and Clones will each receive €25,000. Minister Humphreys explained that this money will be used to fund outdoor seating and an age friendly business campaign. Finally, €22,320 will go to Castleblayney.
