Magheracloone Mitchells GAA Club recently launched Milly’s Mini Marathon on the fundraising platform everydayhero. com to raise funds for Heart Children Ireland, who are providing support to Milly Byrne’s family from Magheracloone, Carrickmacross, since they are in the UK waiting for a heart to become available to the 22- month-old who needs a transplant. The itself event will take place over 24-hours, starting on the stroke of midnight this Sunday, June 7th. The cause immediately struck a chord with community members and those further afield, and the fund is headed for €70,000. This week The Northern Standard spoke to Milly’s mum Charlene in Newcastle and the full story can be found on the Carrickmacross News pages in this issue.
