“Monaghan Co Council does not have a direct role in determining the health implications associated with 5G networks,” it was stated at the December meeting of the local authority in response to a question submitted by Sinn Féin councillor Cathy Bennett. Referring to a previous motion of hers on 5G networks which was passed by the Council, Councillor Bennett asked if their health implications had been investigated by the local authority.
The response went on to state: “In relation to the health effects of 5G, the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment is responsible for policy relating to the health effects of nonionising radiation including electromagnetic fields.
