The development of a remote work facility in Monaghan Town was among a number of projects and initiatives being engaged in by the Monaghan Town Team business support organisation outlined to the members of the Monaghan Municipal District on Monday. The presentation was made by the Monaghan Town Centre Retail Co-ordinator Trevor Connolly, who provided details of a pilot project and collaboration taking place between the Town Team, Monaghan Co Council, Enterprising Ireland and Grow Remote. Mr Connolly said the project would have the end goal of attracting high-value workers back to Monaghan, with the first stage being the development of the first-ever certified training course for remote workers to be held in Co Monaghan.
“We hope that there will be an ongoing opportunity to grow this project further next year and roll it out on an annual basis through Enterprising Monaghan,” the Town Centre Co-ordinator told the meeting. Mr Connolly reported that Monaghan had held its place in the top five in the Foodie Destination competition organised by the Restaurants Association of Ireland.
