The resumed search in Bragan Bog near Carrickroe for the remains of Columba McVeigh is now in its seventh week. The team from the International Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains went back to the isolated mountain site at the start of June. However he has still not been found. The torment and anguish for the family continues, according to the WAVE trauma centre in Belfast. Their representatives accompanied Columba’s sister Dympna Kerr when she visited Bragan last week and made a heartfelt plea for more information to enable the ICLVR to find Columba and bring him home.
On social media, Dympna said: “Just returned back home from my latest visit to the bog where my brother Columba’s remains are buried. I really can’t put into words how I feel when I am standing there in such a desolate and lonely place. All we want as a family is to locate his remains and bury our brother in the family grave with our parents…
