LITHUANIAN DEFENDANT TO BE SENTENCED IN JANUARY
Lithuanian nationality pleaded guilty at Monaghan Circuit Criminal Court on Tuesday to the manslaughter of Seamus Bell, who died five months after an incident at Carrickmacross in January of this year Vytautas Racys (34), with an address at 33 The Oak, Loughnaglack, Carrickmacross pleaded guilty to a manslaughter charge of unlawfully killing another person, Seamus Bell, by inflicting injuries on him at Main Street, Carrickmacross on 20th January 2018.
The court was reminded during the indictment that Mr Bell had died on 2nd June 2018 as a result of the injuries received. Counsel for the defendant, Mr Garnet Orange SC, stated at the outset that this was what was known as a “single punch” case.
