Many Co Monaghan businesses and commercial enterprises paying rates to Monaghan Co Council could see a reduced levy imposed on them following a revaluation scheduled to commence in September and take effect in 2019.
Commissioner of Valuation John O’Sullivan told county councillors on Monday that recent revaluations in other counties had seen the burden reduced on around 60% of ratepayers, while approximately 40% faced an increase, although he stressed that this apportionment could vary significantly from county to county.
