TRIBUTES were paid at last week’s Monaghan Circuit Court hearings to Sergeant Michael O’Reilly, who will be retiring today (Thursday) after a long and distinguished career with the gardai, the last portion of which was spent serving the people of Monaghan town.
The commendations were led by Judge Cormac Quinn, who said he had been told that Sergeant O’Reilly was due to retire on 1st June, after being based in Monaghan for a considerable amount of time, and during which he had done the State “quite an amount of service”.
