Generous odds of 16/1 were announced by bookmakers BoyleSports this week on Monaghan topping Division 1 of the National Football League.
The county open their League campaign this Saturday with a clash against Mayo, who are ranked co-second favourites with Kerry and Tyrone at 9/2 to finish top of the elite bracket of the competition.
BoyleSports have reported that at present the worst liability for their firm in Division 1 is Kerry, who have been supported into 9/2 from 11/2 over the past few weeks. Dublin are 11/8 favourites to retain their crown and win a fifth League title in a row and 13 overall.
