ONE of the best known lawyers in the North East region, Mr. Gerry Jones of Carrickmacross, has been appointed a new District Court judge.
The South Monaghan-based solicitor was nominated by the government for the position on Tuesday and his name was forwarded for appointment by the President of the District Court.
Mr. Jones is member of a highly esteemed farming family from the Magheracloone area outside Carrickmacross.
