Monaghan County Council has sent its congratulations to Tydavnet’s Caitriona Balfe on her latest screen success. She received a Scottish BAFTA award on Sunday for her role in the time travelling television series Outlander.
The actress triumphed over Ashley Jensen and Annie Wallace to win this year’s Actress Television distinction at a glamorous red carpet ceremony in Glasgow.
She thanked the Outlander team for “taking a chance on someone who had never been on a TV set before”.
She also said: “I’m also very lucky that I have not one, but two amazing husbands on this show. So Sam (Heughan) thank you for being the most amazing co-star. Tobias as well,” she added, referring to Tobias Menzies, who also plays her husband in the show. Pic. BAFTA Scotland
